Howdy's Tale

In animal rescue there are days that are very hard and certain animals that really steal your heart. Today is one of those difficult days for us at EGAPL because a certain dog that is so very special to all of us – a dog that seemed like he finally had his much-deserved happy ending – has come back to the shelter.  Yes, we know this happens sometimes and we’re confident we’ll find him the right forever home the next time around but this bump in the road for a loving dog that has already been through so much already in his short life is disheartening to all of off…especially to this special boy named Howdy.

Howdy lived most of his life with a broken leg that never healed properly and he was about to be euthanized when we rescued him. Unfortunately when he arrived at EGAPL despite our best efforts it was determined that his leg had to be removed. Through all of this Howdy's spirit has endured - he is a happy, very energetic boy who loves HUGS! Having his leg removed hasn't stopped him one bit; he is truly an amazing dog who just wants to love and be loved.
