Five things you need to know about East Greenwich today, March 15.


Citizens Who Care meeting:
The CWC is made up of parents and others who want to help young people make good choices. They meet this morning at 10 in the Community Room at the Police Department.

Cooking With Chef Chris: is hosting a series of cooking sessions to help you learn how to cook vegetarian, vegan and gluten free recipes. Tonight, it's soups and salads, including Tuscan Kale and Cannellini Soup and Black Bean Chili. The cost is $25 and the cooking starts at 6:30 p.m.

Sixth Grade Parent Course Selection Night: This is it, the night for sixth grade parents to discover their child’s destiny! Okay, maybe it’s just an opportunity to learn the course offerings for the next year. The mathematics program as well as student elective choices will be discussed. It all happens at Cole Middle School starting at 6:30 p.m.

EG Republican Town Committee meeting: The committee meets on the third Thursday of the month at . Tonight’s meeting will focus on plans for the coming election year. All Republican voters, or voters leaning Republican, are welcome. More news about the EG RTC is available on Facebook.

The Ides of March: Julius Caesar was killed on this day in 44 B.C., stabbed 23 times in the Roman Senate by a group of conspirators (cue "Et tu, Brute?"). The takeaway: If someone warns you to beware the "ides" (i.e. middle) of March, think about calling in sick.
