Five things you need to know about East Greenwich today, March 12.


Board of Canvassers meeting: With election season nearing, the board will meet to select presidential primary workers and will hear about redistricting changes from Kimball Brace of Election Data Services. The meeting takes place in Conference Room B at Town Hall at 2 p.m.

Town Council meeting: On tonight’s agenda is an update on the Odeum. Board President Frank Prosnitz told the Council in January that the Main Street theater would be able to open by the end of March. Also on the agenda, the Council will hear plans by the Main Street Association (formerly Downtown Planning Initiative) to hold a wine tasting event in the municipal parking lot between 58 and 86 Main Street on May 19. The meeting is held in Council Chambers at Town Hall, starting at 7 p.m.

Healthy Cooking Demo: This is a free cooking demo is a collaboration between Wild Harvest Bakery and Integrated Medical Weight Loss. The theme is St. Patrick's Day and it is open to everyone. From 6 to 7 p.m. at Wild Harvest in the Benny’s Plaza.
