Fireworks tonight in Warwick: It’s only July 1, but some communities like to beat the crowd. There will be fireworks at Oakland Beach starting at dusk (around 9pm). You could go to Sandy Point at the end of Ives Road and catch the whole show.

Live Music: It’s summer so there are plently of places to hear live music in town. At Twenty Water Street, you can catch Richard Ceresi and his All Starz from 8 to midnight. At Harbourside, listen to Alger from 5 to 8pm and Noy-Z Toyz from 8:30 on. At the Greenwich Hotel, you can hear The Throttles starting at 9pm. The American Legion also features live music from 1 to 11pm.

From the Fire Marshall: Rhode Island okayed the sale of non-incendiary fireworks last year, but people are still trying to figure out what that means. Fire Marshall Steven Hughes makes it simple: if it makes noise, it’s not legal in Rhode Island. So, sparklers are okay. But be safe - never light any type of firework inside, even if it’s raining. And do not let young children handle fireworks of any variety. It’s only July 1, but some communities like to beat the crowd. There will be fireworks at Oakland Beach starting at dusk (around 9pm).
