Five Things: Yard Sales, A Bake Sale & More

Yard sales: There’s a “huge garage sale” today at 8 Gladridge Drive – “tons of stuff must go!  Great Stuff! Girls clothes, shoes, ages 0 -5 years old, toys, treadmill, small electronics, small furniture, household items, jewelry, women's clothing and shoes” according to the event listing. It starts at 8 a.m.

Another sale, at 163 Spring St., offers “Step 2 Crab Sandbox, Oak book cases, DeLonghi espresso/cappucino machine, table lamps, Giant Butte mountain bike, Dutch door, antique coffee tables, bed frames, Kenmore HEPA filter, framed pictures, books, children's games and puzzles, kitchen & BBQ tools, VCR, VHS movies, DVD player, Craftsman electric weed trimmer, candles, cotton candy maker, garden pots,” and more. Also at 8 a.m.

Teddy Bear Picnic: Fun, games, and ice cream for children ages 3 to 8 (and their teddy bears!). This family event is sponsored by the Friends of East Greenwich Free Library. Bring your teddy bear, a bag lunch, and we'll provide the drinks, ice cream, music, and games. It will be a "teddy-rific" time! Register by calling 884-9510 ext .27 (space is limited to 25).

EGAPL Bake Sale: The will be at the Warwick Mall Community Booth for a “Almost Summer Bake Sale” today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Baked goods, homemade dog and cat items, and many more wonderful things will be for sale. We will  also have pictures of the cats and dogs available for adoption as well as information about our league. If you’d like to contribute baked goods, swing by the booth any time after 10 a.m. EGAPL is a non-profit and all-volunteer league. All proceeds will be used for the animals in our care.

Free Youth Clinic at McCoy: Citizens Bank, in association with ABC6 and the Pawtucket Red Sox, are offering free youth clinics to McCoy Stadium this afternoon. Citizens Bank, PawSox manager Arnie Beyeler, coaches, and several PawSox players conduct the popular clinics on the field at McCoy to offer youngsters instructions and tips on the game of baseball. Participating youth need to bring a glove to the clinic. Families are invited to remain at McCoy after the clinic for an autograph session. From 2 to 3:15 p.m. Later, the PawSox play the Atlanta Braves, starting at 6:05 p.m.

EG Girls Fastpitch Playoff Action: After two rain delays, the Avengers played Prout last night at Rhode Island College and won! They play again today at RIC against Woonsocket at 4:30 p.m. Go Avengers!
