Five Things: An Open House & A Vacation

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Aug. 19.

Store closing “yard sale”: The Little Kitchen Shop (formerly of 176 Main St.) is having a BIG after-closing store "Yard Sale" today from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 90 Bond St. (the last house on right). All store inventory will be deeply reduced: Emile Henry, Sabre, kitchen gadgets, School of Fish Glassware and much much more! We will also be selling many of the store fixtures and displays. Remember those beautiful slope jars with all the teas and spices well, they can be yours now. We will also have some odds & ends from our own clutter – new wood burning stove, ladies clothing sizes 6 to 14 and a variety of miscellaneous items.

EGAPL Open House: Check out the EG Animal Protection League dogs and cats looking for permanent homes at the Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.

Ocean State Soccer signups: The Fall 2012 sign ups are taking place now for children ages 3 to 18. The 8-game schedule starts Sept. 8. To register, please visit www.oceanstatesoccer.org. Contact Jenn Gallagher, 222-9479 with questions or email osregistrar@gmail.com.

Calendar items: If you have something you’d like to see on the EG Patch calendar, upload it by clicking here and finding the “Add an Event” tab on the right. The Events Calendar is my go-to spot for the daily Five Things column. If you want to be featured in Five Things, make sure you post your items on the calendar!

I’m on vacation! Step away from the computer, Elizabeth. At least, I’m going to try to for the next week. So if you have any pressing issues, please email Asst. Regional Editor Patrick Luce (patrick.luce@patch.com), who will be helping out on the site this week. See you next week!
