Back to Basics celebrates 30 Years in business: Back to Basics Natural Foods has launched a plethora of savings for their 30-year celebration weekend. Starting today, the store holds its "30 Year 30% Off" sales throughout the store. On Saturday, there will be a series of special events. Congratulations Hartman's and Back to Basics!

Goddard Park Farmers Market: The market has moved into fall mode (only a few Fridays left this season!), with pumpkins, squash and apples. It’s a lovely way to spend a cool late summer morning. Off Ives Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Avenger home games: Boys Soccer versus Mount Pleasant, Varsity at 4:15 p.m., JV at 6:15. Girls Volleyball against Cranston West (“Pink Out” games), JV at 4:45 and Varsity at 6:30. The unbeaten Avenger Football team will be playin down the road tonight in NK at 7 p.m. JV Football takes on NK at home tomorrow at 10 a.m. For the latest information about EGHS sports, check out the Avengers Booster Club website.

Huge Rummage Sale: This is it, the one you have all been waiting for – First Baptist Church’s annual rummage sale. There will be tables and tables and racks and racks of clothing, carefully sorted by sex/type/size; shoes, handbags and hats galore; lots of jewelry; lots and lots of linens; tools, electronics, and books books books. In addition, there will be kitchenware, glassware and knick knacks; lots of children’s toys; furniture; seasonal items; craft items – even itemized seasonal and craft items. It starts this afternoon at 4 p.m. (no early birds!) to 8 p.m. On Saturday, the hours are 8 a.m. to noon. 

Teen Center: The Teen Center has provided a great place to hang out on Friday evenings for decades now. They meet at the gym at Eldredge School but you don’t have to play basketball to enjoy the camraderie. From 6 to 8 p.m.

Family Fun Day on Sunday: East Greenwich Square (home of Dave’s, Gold’s and Panera) is holding a Family Fun Day this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be fun, food & more, including pumpkin painting, fun photo ops and special discounts from favorite retailers and restaurants. Additionally, Courtesy Cleaners will be collecting new and gently used coats for their Winter Coat drive, and McDonald's will be collecting household items from the Ronald McDonald House Providence wish list. Both Courtesy Cleaners and McDonald's will have collection boxes at their tables.
