Five Things: Cookout, Concert & More

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Aug. 2.


Pre-Concert Cookout: St. Luke’s continues the tradition it began a few years ago with a free cookout before the concert that's open to any and all. This is a community event and you are sure to know someone. Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m., with the concert at 6:30 right across the parking lot.

Concert at Academy Field: This is it, the final Thursday concert of the summer. Tonight features the Ten Rod Ramblers, a folk-rock band. Bring a blanket, some chairs, something to drink and nibble on and you’ve got yourself a lovely evening. The music goes from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Brought to you by the EG Parks & Rec Department.

Great Graffiti Contest is this Saturday: The East Greenwich Housing Authority and the Town of East Greenwich are sponsoring , Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at London and Duke streets. The event is free and open to the public (rain date is Sunday, Aug. 5). Join in, or come as a spectator – either way, it’s a great event!
