Five Things: Debate Questions, Calendar Items Needed

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Aug. 10.

Goddard Park Farmers Market: It’s high season for tomatoes. They will be all over this market today. Check them out and while you’re there, pick up the seafood, baked goods, and other lovely things available. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. off Ives Road.

Crestar Cruise Night: Cool cars, Pop’s food truck, and good tunes are the ingredients to best Friday evening activity in town. Come check out what’s under the hood at the parking lot at Crestar Frame Co. on Union and Greene streets from 5 to 8 p.m.

Teen Center: Send your coach-potato kid down to the gym at Eldredge this afternoon from 5 to 7 p.m. for the weekly .

Register for the primary today: Today's the last day to register for the Sept. 11 primary at Town Hall. The official deadline, however, is Sunday, so the EG Police station will have forms on hand and you can turn them in there up until Sunday at 4 p.m. This goes for changing your affliation, too.

What would you ask the state rep candidates? The Republican Town Committee, together with EG Patch, is holding a debate between GOP candidates for the state House Dist. 30 seat long held by the now retiring Bob Watson on Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Varnum Armory. But we need your help! A portion of the debate will be asking questions that have been submitted on Patch. Send your question via email to elizabeth.mcnamara@patch.com.

Calendar items, please: If you have something you’d like to see on the EG Patch calendar, upload it by clicking here and finding the “Add an Event” tab on the right. The Events Calendar is my go-to spot for the daily Five Things column. If you want to be featured in Five Things, make sure you post your items on the calendar!

Yes, six things today!
