Adopt-A-Pet Open House: Animals are available for viewing and adoption today with the assistance of a dedicated East Greenwich Animal Protection League member. The open house takes place at Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital from 10:30 to 1 p.m. Individual appointments are also available.
No ‘Blu’ … Yet: Despite much effort, the new restaurant opening up at the site of the former Twenty Water Street failed to gain a certificate of occupancy before the close of business Friday, so it will NOT be opening this afternoon as owners had hoped. But work there continues this weekend and rumor has it they will aim to open Tuesday, July 3. Stay tuned.
We Need Your Nominations! The new Readers’ Choice relies on reader nominations – if no one, for instance, nominates for Best Coffee Shop, it won’t make it in the actual contest. Art Exhibit @ Crestar: MJ Yeager and Jill McLaughlin are exhibiting their artwork through July 5 at in East Greenwich. The South County artists will be showing mixed media artwork with complementary abstract, dreamlike themes in their first exhibit together. Crestar is located at 51 Liberty St., behind Centerville Bank and across from the CVS drive-through window. The exhibit may also be viewed during business hours Mon. through Fri. 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sat. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parking is available and the exhibit is free and open to the public.
