Goddard Park Beach Butt Cleanup Sunday: Cigarette butts, among the most commonly littered items in America, contain toxins and chemicals that contaminate the environment and can poison living things that come in contact with them. This cleanup at the beach at is being held in collaboration with the DEM’s Great Outdoors Pursuit to help promote healthy, smoke-free Rhode Island beaches. From 10 a.m. to noon Sunday.

Adopt-a-Pet Open House: Meet dogs and cats in need of permanent homes at the weekly open house at .

Smith’s Castle: This local jewel is located just down Post Road in North Kingstown and open today and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. for house tours and views of the grounds and gardens. It’s a great family activity.
