Main Street Stroll: The stroll comes just in time for Mother’s Day and it’s also Military Spouse Appreciation Night. From 5 to 8 p.m. on Main Street (of course!). The next three strolls are June 13, July 18, and August 22.
Author book signing at Symposium Books: Les Rolston, a lifelong Rhode Islander, will be at Symposium Books from 6 to 8 p.m. to sign copies of his book, Lost Soul: A Confederate Soldier In New England, and two other books he’s written. Lost Soul describes his efforts to preserve the unmarked grave site of a Confederate soldier buried in Rhode Island.
Eva Marie Mancuso at Town Hall: Eva Marie Mancuso, chair of the Rhode Island Board of Education, is a guest of the EG Democratic Town Committee. She will discuss education issues in Rhode Island at Town Hall starting at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome.
Got old books? Donate them! The Friends of the EG Library are holding their annual book sale this Saturday and they could use some more books! Drop them off at the library. They are also looking for help sorting, stacking, selling. If you can help out, contact Shifts are as short as an hour ... or as long as you want. You might even decide to join the Friends. Lobster Roll time: Every spring, Westminster Unitarian Church goes into lobster mode, making hundreds of lobster rolls. The 22nd Annual Lobster Roll Day is Friday, May 17, but NOW is the time to place your order. For $9.50, you get succulent lobster mixed with a little mayo, presented on a buttered roll, with a side of potato chips. As always, there are no fillers. Order 6+ rolls and get free delivery in East and West Greenwich, Warwick, Cranston, North and South Kingstown, Coventry, West Warwick, Exeter and Narragansett. There is a $5 delivery charge outside the free delivery area. Orders may also be picked up by 12:30 p.m. at Westminster. Orders of fewer than 6 rolls are pick-up only. EG Food Cupboard needs donations: People are hungry all year round, Chris and Steve Bartlett of the Food Cupboard remind us. Items especially needed are jars of jelly, baked beans, canned fruit, tuna, peanut butter, and cereals. The food cupboard is housed at St. Luke’s Church. You can leave food there during normal business hours.
