Five Things: Market, Council, Tad Cooler

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, July 8.

EG Farmers Market: Swing by Academy Field this afternoon and pick up prepared foods (Middle Eastern delights from the Deli or pizza from Bravo), items to grill (seafood from Matunuck Oysters, meats from Pat’s Pastured), and lots of fresh vegetables, as well as sweets baked in someone else’s oven! It’s hot-weather fare made easy. From 3 to 6 p.m.

Town Council meeting: The council will be naming an interim town manager tonight, among other agenda items. To see the full agenda, click here. In Council Chambers at Town Hall at 7 p.m.

Open Jam Night: The Greenwich Hotel’s Open Jam session takes place every Monday night. All musicians are welcome and even non-musicians with rhythm can join in on the percussion instruments. This is Open Mic with a twist. It is a more relaxed format. You are encouraged to jump in and start playing. This makes for an interesting and unique night of music. A full PA set up with mics, cords, bass amp, electronic drum kit, bongos, djembe and other percussion instruments are available.
