Revolutionary War re-enactment: The 1770 Coventry home of General George Washington's most trusted general will be the site of a Revolutionary War encampment. Revolutionary War re-enactors will recreate an authentic military encampment on the grounds of the historic General Nathanael Greene Homestead. See musket, cannon, and camp-life demonstrations.  This encampment goes from Saturday to Sunday. Please come on and support the Nathanael Greene Homestead's first encampment in the 21st century. Open at 10 a.m. Cost $5. 50 Taft St., Coventry.

Animal Protection League Open House: Check out the EG Animal Protection League dogs and cats looking for permanent homes at the Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.

Last day to register to vote in Sept. 11 primary: The Town Clerk’s office may not be open, but it’s not too late to register. Swing by the EG Police station. You can pick up a registration form there, fill it out and leave it with them. They will accept registration forms until 4 p.m. today. Don’t miss out – we have both local and state primaries this year!

Bristol Boat & Artisan Show: Arts, crafts, boats, food and a terrific view. This will be the 11th annual event on the waterfront at Independence Park, Bristol.
