School Committee meeting: The agenda (attached at right) includes four appointments, one of them a senior administrative accountant, and discussion of the job posting for a new director of student services, duties of which came under the job description of the former Asst. Superintendent Paula Dillon. The meeting takes place in the library at Cole Middle School and begins at 7 p.m.

EG Land Trust meeting: The agenda includes discussion of funding options of significant barn repairs. The meeting takes place in the conference room across from Council Chambers at Town Hall and starts at 7 p.m.

Cindy-Wood Garden Tour: The club will tour Manna Farm in Charlestown to learn about composting and worm farming. It'll be $5 per person, bring a bag lunch for a picnic. Call Marnie (886-9266) if you're interested in attending. The Cindy-Wood Garden Club usually meets the third Tuesday of each month. We’re a low-key club of gardeners who love to share information and celebrate the beauty of the earth. We care for the gardens at the Old Gaol in E.G. and various other projects. Our meetings feature speaker, tours or workshops. All are welcome.

Steve Marra 5K in EG on Sunday: The Steve Marra Foundation 5K Road Race, to be held Sunday, Oct. 21, will start behind the Grille on Main and finish in front, on Main Street, and will honor . The registration form is attached at right.
