Five Things: Summer's End Is Almost Here!

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Aug. 30.

Summer’s End happens tomorrow! Get all the information you need – and you need it all because there are some time changes and new acts – . And, Lisa Sussman from the Summer’s End committee, reminds us that “no pooches, parrots, pythons, panthers or any other pets” are allowed on the field. Good to know – Polly's going to have to miss the show!

Isaac Carlson on The Rhode Show: Twelve-year-old Isaac Carlson was featured recently on The Rhode Show along with Miss Rhode Island, Kelsey Fournier. The topic of the spot was preparing healthy lunches for back to school. The two met through a nonprofit summer camp called Fit2Cook4Fits, created and directed by Karen Salvatore of North Kingstown. Isaac then went on to prepare a healthy trail mix snack. Congrats, Isaac!

First Day of School pictures: If you have any photos from yesterday you'd like to share, please do! to upload your photos. And thanks!

Bus schedules: If you need a bus schedule, here’s a link to all the EG public school schedules and schedules for OLM and Rocky Hill schools. Buses always run behind in the first days of school, but if you think something excessive happened, shoot me an email: elizabeth.mcnamara@patch.com.

Post your events on our Calendar: If you have something you’d like to see on the EG Patch calendar, upload it by clicking here and finding the “Add an Event” tab on the right. The Events Calendar is my go-to spot for the daily Five Things column. If you want to be featured in Five Things, make sure you post your items on the calendar! And, thanks!
