The initiative to hire vetetans is a good one that we should follow up with but the question is how do we sustain such a plan? While veteran unemployment is high (and even higher among young vets hovering at about 29% http://wapo.st/L8ziKF) we still have millions of others who need to go back to work too. Developing a better long term strategy for the labor crisis is going to be crucial to our recovery. This shifting of who gets jobs and who won't won't stand for long.
