St. Patrick’s Day parade: If you missed the parade in Newport, or just want to keep celebrating, neighboring West Warwick also hosts a parade. It begins at 1 p.m. and goes along Washington Street, ending at West Warwick Town Hall.

On Monday …

Sustainability discussion: A kick-off event to discuss how to explore living more in line with earth-based values, with guided group discussions exploring ecological living. Topics will include choices for sustainability, healthy children, healthy planet, menu for the future, and voluntary simplicity. At Fertile Underground Grocery, 1577 Westminster St., in Providence at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday …

School Committee meeting: The agenda includes review of a survey to go out to parents on the school calendar and a presentation by Aramark of the school lunch program so far this academic year. The meeting takes place in the library at Cole Middle School and starts at 7 p.m. (The panel will meet in Executive – closed – session starting at 5:30.)

Land Trust meeting: Agenda items include a review of operations at Boesch Farm and discussion of the Trail Adoption Program. The meeting takes place in the conference room across from Council Chambers in Town Hall at 7 p.m.

Planning Board meeting in NK: The EG Planning Board will meet with the North Kingstown Planning Board to discuss The Commons of Frenchtown Road” at the Town Hall in North Kingstown. The proposed development sits in both towns. 7:30 p.m.
