Five Things: Zoning Board, One Last Day

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Aug. 28.

Zoning Board meeting: There are two items on the agenda. The first is a resident on Larkspur Road is requesting a variance to build a detached garage with an average elevation of 27.2 feet. The zoning code calls for a 15-foot maximum. The second is a developer of a three-unit condominium complex on Vine Street who is seeking dimensional variances for parking.

‘Pricing for Profits’ seminar: David J. Lucier, CPA, conducts  this seminar about how pricing strategy is one of the biggest contributors to the profits of a business. At 875 Centerville Road in Warwick from 8 to 10 a.m.

Last Day of ‘Summer’: Not literally, of course, but for all those school children out there (and their parents), it is indeed the last real day of summer. What are you doing to mark the occasion – Hill Top? Movie? Beach? Shopping? Please let us know in the Comments section below!

I need help with Calendar items! If you have something you’d like to see on the EG Patch calendar, upload it by clicking here and finding the “Add an Event” tab on the right. The Events Calendar is my go-to spot for the daily Five Things column. If you want to be featured in Five Things, make sure you post your items on the calendar!

EG Food Cupboard needs donations: People are hungry all year round, Chris and Steve Bartlett of the Food Cupboard remind us. Items especially needed are jars of jelly, baked beans, canned fruit, tuna, peanut butter, and cereals. The food cupboard is housed at St. Luke’s Church. You can leave food there during normal business hours.
