Halloween Events, Baked Goods And More

Five things you need to know about East Greenwich today, Oct. 29

Parks & Rec Halloween activities: The day’s activities kick off with the 18th annual Halloween parade down Main Street. The group will form at Academy Field and march promptly at 10 a.m. Beginning at 10:30 a.m., the ghosts and goblins are invited by the Hill and Harbor merchants to trick-or-treat in their downtown shops until noon (only children 12 and under who are dressed in a Halloween costume). Check the Town’s web page for participating shops or pick up a flyer at Town Hall, the Parks & Recreation Department, and the Library.

Halloween bake sale: An enterprising Matthew Durant, 11, is holding a bake sale today. Says Matthew, “I'm having a bake sale because I love to cook and I want to be a baker/chef. I also thought it would be fun for my friends in the neighborhood to do. We will divide the money amongst ourselves. Christmas is coming and I plan to use the money to buy some gifts.”  The sale takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. at 60 Signal Ridge Way.

Estate sale: The sale takes place at 194 Spring Street and starts at 9 a.m.

Halloween Tae Kwon Do party: Everyone is invited to come in dressed up and bring their friends to Grandmaster Hong's Tae Kwon Do. There will be games, prizes, and contests; a food item to share is appreciated.

Live (and DJ) Music: American Legion Post #15 will feature an oldies or country band tonight, starting at 7 p.m. At the Greenwich Hotel, you can hear the Al Keith Collective with Trixie Trudel, starting at 9 p.m. Harbourside Lobstermania is open tonight for Halloween fun, with the band Rugburn.
