Rain, Rain, Stay Away - Loads To Do This Saturday
Five things you need to know about East Greenwich today, Sept. 24
Frenchtown Fall Festival: The festival, put on the PTG, features everything from carnival games to face painting to a cake walk. From noon to 3 p.m.
Electronic Waste Drive: If you have some old electronic equipment you’ve been holding on to waiting for a safe way to unload them, today’s the day. There will be trucks parked outside Texas Roadhouse waiting for your goods. Small donations are appreciated - but not required - to offset disposal costs. From 9 to noon.
Avenger Football: EGHS travels to Burrillville High School this morning for their game. The action starts at 10:30 a.m. EG Patch will have the story by tomorrow.
Children’s consignments: More than 200 local families have consigned thousands of new and gently used children’s items for the RI Kids Consignment Sale, September 23-25 at 1324 Bald Hill Road in Warwick (next to Dicks Sporting Goods in the old Linens n Things storefront). On Friday, the sale is open between 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
“Goonies” On The Green: After a viewing of “ET” last September, Movie Under the Stars is back this year with “Goonies,” a classic of the kids-against-the-big-bad-world genre that includes a treasure hunt, a pirate ship, and the first-scary-then-loveable Sloth. There will be food vendors to satisfy the whole family (i.e. The Coffee Guy and kettle corn). Of course, the weather may interfere. EG Patch will post a status update later today.
