Matching Students, Teachers … a forum: The School Committee is hosting the first of four Excellence in Education Forums Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Cole Middle School. Read their letter to the editor about the series here. The topic for Thursday’s session is “Aligning Educator Talent with Student Need” — in other words, how to match teachers and students. Join us for a panel discussion with state and local educators and administrators, followed by an open discussion with members of the community. The special guest participant for this first forum are David Abbott, Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel for the Rhode Island Department of Education.
