Avenger home action: Boys Volleyball goes up against West Warwick today, with the JV game at 4:45 p.m. and the Varsity game at 6:30 p.m. Boys Lacrosse will play Cumberland, with the JV game at 4 p.m. and the Varsity at 6 p.m.

EG GOP meeting & straw poll: The 2012 election kickoff is the focus of tonight's meeting at Caprice of the EG Republican Town Committee. John Robitaille, gubernatorial candidate in 2010, and all three EG General Assembly members — State Senators Dawson Hodgson and Glen Shibley, and State Representative Robert Watson. The committee will also hold a presidential straw poll in advance of next Tuesday’s presidential primary election. All are welcome; no cost, but a cash bar will be available. 7 p.m.

Wheeler Clothing Sale: Okay, this is a field trip, but the reputation of this annual sale is strong enough that we list it here. The Wheeler School Parents Association collects a year’s worth of clothing and other items, then sells them here. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Wheeler School Gym, 407 Brook St. in Providence.
