Weekend Five Things: Walking Tour, Art Fest, Block Party

EG Walking Tour: Want to know more about the history of our town? Bruce MacGunnigle on one of his periodic walking tours. Meet at the corner of Duke and Division streets. You will end up at the Library. All are welcome but reservations are advised. Call 884-9510 to reserve your spot.

Wickford Art Festival: The popular annual art festival returns for the 51st time this weekend. Stroll the streets of downtown Wickford and check out the more than 200 artists who will be exhibiting their work. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, click here.

Orange Leaf Summer Block Party: Everyone’s invited to the Summer Block Party at Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt at 1000 Division Street. We will be kicking off our summer season with games, free sampling of our summer favorites – root beer float and key lime pie – complimentary beverages and snacks, and chances to win prizes. 4 p.m.

Live music at American Legion: Cross Fire is playing at the American Legion hall tonight starting at 6:30 p.m.

Adopt-a-Pet Open House: If you are looking for a new dog or cat, swing by the EG Animal Protection League’s weekly open house between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital on Post Road.

New England Steel Guitar jam session: The New England Steel Guitar Association holds their monthly jam on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., with Al Carter and The Nashville Boys.
