Art Talk with artists Uli Brahmst and Ken Steinkamp “Questions & answers about methods, mediums, magic of ABSTRACT ART”

On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, the

Friends of the East Greenwich Free Library will sponsor an Art Talk “Questions & answers about methods,

mediums, magic of ABSTRACT ART”
 featuring

Uli Brahmst and Ken Steinkamp.

Uli was the winner of the 2013
Winter’s Eve Juried Art Show at the East Greenwich Free Library in December.
She is an accomplished artist, and is currently being shown in multiple
galleries in New York, NY.  In 2013, Uli

had showings at the Art League of Rhode Island: Annual Members’ Exhibition, The
Galleries of the Providence Art Club, Providence, RI, and the ALRI, Heritage
Art Gallery, in East Greenwich, RI.  In
her artist’s statement, Uli describes her work as follows  “My iconography is as much
inspired by what catches my attention in everyday life as by my imagination.
This accounts for the free flow between representational and abstract
work.”
To learn more about Uli, her
art and accomplishments, visit her web site at www.ulibrahmst.com.

Artist Ken Steinkamp has
established a reputation for creating powerful works of abstract art that he
describes as an exploration of his inner-self.

 Art critic Brian Sherwin
commented on Ken Steinkamps's artwork, stating, "If you have lived life... really lived it... you know that life
is a buildup of layers. Memories are layers of life... experiences are layers
of life. The various layers of life can be full of light or darkness -- all of
it is beautiful. These layers define us. Steinkamp captures that in his body of
work."
Ken Steinkamp has been

involved with art exhibits at the Los Angeles County Art Museum, Northampton
Center for the Arts, and the Hygienic Arts Center. Examples of his work can be
found in collections throughout Europe and the United States. Visit www.kensteinkamp.com to learn more
about Ken his art and accomplishments.
