Audubon Birding Hammonasset Beach and Lighthouse Pt. in Conn.

Hammonasset  Beach State Park is the premier birding site in Ct., with nearly 300 species spotted in that location. Observe migrating waterfowl, waders, raptors, warblers and buntings, and possibly cave swallows and the Northern Saw-whet owl.  Participants will also visit Lighthouse Pt. Park, one of the oldest hawk watch sites in the U.S.  We will watch for accipiters, falcons, buteos and eagles. We will also stop at East Shore Park, where a water treatment plant provides a micro-climate which attracts migrant warblers, sparrows and swallows to linger.  Please bring a lunch and snacks, binoculars, and scopes and dress for the weather.
Program fee: $50/member. $60/non-member.  Ages 16+
