Blessing of the "Quilts from the Heart"

Blessing of the "Quilts from the Heart"

At the 5 pm worship service on December 14th, Pastor Linda Forsberg will bless each of the 26 "Quilts from the Heart" that were made to honor and memorialize those who died in Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Like so many who wanted to do something, Diane Amaral, an experienced quilter, brought her sewing machines, patterns, and fabric to the church and offered to teach quilting to anyone interested in learning.  The result is 26 different, personalized, and beautiful quilts.

As the name of each child and adult is read, the church bell will ring.  Following the service, the quilts will be donated to Project Linus, which provides blankets to children in need.
