Bowl a Thon

                                 Bowling for a great cause
“Your friends are too young to hear the story of Tori Lynn Andreozzi, you can not do a presentation on drunk driving, I’m sorry.” These were the harsh words I heard coming out of my teachers mouth as I had just found out that my group finished the group project while I was away on vacation and I now had to work alone. I wanted my peers to know that everything could be taken away in a flash. It is now a few years later and I can finally tell people what its like to lose so much to alcohol. No, I myself may not be Tori but I have been around to see the struggles. Not only have I been there to see what the Andreozzi family goes through I also lost one of my role models in a drunk driving accident four years ago, she was nineteen.Hi, My name is Haley O’Connor and it is my senior year in high School and if you have graduated in the last five years you will know about the dreaded senior project. This article's purpose is not to talk about myself but to talk about the fundraiser I am holding at Kingston Bowl on Tuesday November 5th from 7pm-10pm. Come bowl for just ten dollars and if you don't like bowling? Still come anyways, there will be lots of food and raffles. .Wondering where the money is going to end up? Well I picked a foundation that lays very close to my heart and that was the Tori Lynn Andreozzi foundation. Because this is a local fundraiser, not many people know what the proceeds go to. The Tori Lynn Andreozzi foundation is broken down into five branches which consist of commitment to the community, support and recognition of law enforcement, education and awareness of substance abuse/youth and destructive decisions, traumatic brain injury and rehabilitation, and confidence through competition. These are the five areas that the money raised goes to, each helping out the community in its own way. This fundraiser might not be well known to you but that doesn't mean you should blow off the great opportunity to come bowl with your friends, since all are welcome from 7pm-10pm. Bowling is only ten dollars but I would suggest bringing some extra money for the great snacks and raffle baskets that were donated. So mark off your calendars for November 5th because who doesn't love bowling and food?
