Circus Smirkus 5th year in RI

        Grab your Ruby Slippers and click your heels together, as Circus Smirkus goes "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" with a new spin on the Wizard of Oz. It will take acrobatic thinking, highwire hearts, and courageous clowns to embark on this Emerald City adventure! This time it's all flying monkey business as we cartwheel down the yellow brick road to a new twist in the tale. Pull back the curtain and discover fun for the whole family as Circus Smirkus presents Oz Incorporated.

Circus Smirkus is a non-profit, award-winning international youth circus founded with a mission: to promote the skills, culture and traditions of the traveling circus and to inspire youth to engage in life-changing adventures in the circus arts.
Every summer, a company of talented Smirkus Troupers, ages 10 to 18, go on a two-month performance tour around New England. Backed by coaches, cooks, crew, and musicians, the troupers perform to sell-out crowds in a 750-seat European-style one-ring Big Top tent! Our summer Circus Smirkus Big Top Tour showcases the best young talent in the Circus Arts today, selected by audition to share the ring with professional circus artists.
Every year, we choose a new storyline and develop an original full-length show that combines the best of traditional and contemporary circus styles. We give our troupers the full experience of touring a traditional one-ring Big Top tent show.
It's a complete immersion in circus life, including rigorous training, daily chores, loading in and loading out the Big Top, and performing in over 70 shows in 14 towns in just seven weeks!

Four shows in Richmond on July 19th & 20th at 1pm and 6pm!
