Book Reception by East Greenwich Historic Preservation Society

The East Greenwich Historic Preservation Society is proud to introduce its latest publication, "Vintage Postcards of East Greenwich, RI" at a reception on Monday, December 17 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.  The event will be held at the East Greenwich Free Library, 82 Peirce Street and light refreshments will be served.

The 186-page, soft cover book is a stroll down memory lane. It is filled with colored postcards dating from the early 20th century, of the hill and harbor districts, Main Street, the mills, schools and churchs of our town.  "We're so pleased to be able to offer it in time for Christmas," said Society president Marion Helwig. "It makes a perfect gift for current and former residents."  She has been working on the book with editor Rachel Peirce for more than a year.

The book will be for sale at the reception for $24.99 or it can be ordered from the Society by calling 401-826-0178.
