Community Corner

IT’S FASHIONISTA MONTH AT EG LIBRARY!

Continuing with our high fashion trend, the red be rolled out at Swift Community Center for a screening of "Valentino - the Last Emperor" with introduction by Linda Welters, Professor and

Co-Chairman of the Department of Fashion Merchandising at URI. This beautiful,
nostalgic documentary traces the 50 year career of designer Valentino to
his 70th birthday gala. The film captures this designer's influence
on the way we dress, and the difficult business of fashion. Guest host Linda
Welters, Professor and Co-Chairman of the Department of Fashion Merchandising
at URI, has done extensive research on European folk dress, RI Quilts and New
England archeological textiles.  She is co-author of "20th Century
American Fashion.
