Registration Begins for After School Shark Classes

Thursdays,  9/26 – 10/24; 4
p.m. – 5 p.m.

Sharks After School for Grades K-3: These after school
programs make learning fun through games, crafts and hands-on activities. 
ONLY $5/child
for each session. 
Sign up in advance for all 5 sessions for only $20  *you must attend at least 2 sessions in order
to sign up for the animal encounter



9/26 – Simply Sharks – What makes a shark different from other
fish? This program introduces children to the fascinating world of sharks and
why they shouldn’t have such a bad reputation.



10/3 – Shark Senses – We have 5 but they have 7.  These amazing adaptations make sharks
incredible hunters in the sea. Children learn how these senses work through
games.

10/10 – Sharks of the World – There are over 400 species of sharks
and they come in all different shapes and sizes.  Children will learn about some of the coolest
and most unusual sharks around the world and how they have been honored by
cultures around the world.  Time to build
a totem!



10/17 – The Mighty Megladon – This giant of the sea roamed the
oceans millions of years ago.  Children
will learn about this and other extinct sharks and will have the opportunity to
make a life-sized, giant megladon tooth to take home.

10/24 – Animal Encounter-Sharks – As a wrap up to this shark
series, children will have an up close encounter with a small shark and their
cousin the skate. * - must have attended at least two programs to attend this
one
