Working to Build a Foundation of Financial Empowerment for Working Rhode Islanders

Seth was born and raised in Bristol, and began his career as an elementary school teacher in rural Louisiana during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. As the recession hit businesses and families across the country, Seth went to graduate school to study how the financial system can be changed to power working people. Returning home to Rhode Island, Seth has worked as Vice President at Trillium Asset Management, a socially responsible investment firm with over one billion dollars of assets under management.

He currently serves on the boards of Crossroad RI, the state's largest provider of services to the homeless, and Serve RI, which promotes volunteerism and community service. Seth holds a bachelor's degree in history from Brown University and a master's degree in business administration from Yale University.Active member of the Rhode Island community, Seth Magaziner prepares to tackle the states current fiscal climate and factors impeding growth compared to other New England states in running for General Treasurer of Rhode Island.

Ready to bring new energy and fresh ideas to state government, Seth plans to utilize his experience as an investment professional to deliver strong performance on the state's investments. Please join us on May 14th to hear Seth discuss his plans of building a foundation that supports economic growth and job creation through investments in infrastructure and education, as well as financial empowerment and opportunities to create a better banking system that works for all.
