The Junior League of Rhode Island, Inc. Seeks New Members
New Member Information Night
The Junior League of Rhode Island, Inc. (JLRI), an organization of women dedicated to volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities, is holding a New Member Information Night on Wednesday, Sept. 19. This open house will be held at the Providence Preservation Society Old Brick Schoolhouse located at 24 Meeting St. in Providence, with a social beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by an information session. All women are welcome to attend, and learn about the JLRI, what the organization can offer them, and meet some of our members.
The Junior League of Rhode Island was founded in Providence in 1921. Since its inception, JLRI members have donated more than 2.2 million hours of service and over $40 million to assist more than 250 statewide non-profit community partners. JLRI celebrated its 90th anniversary last year, and has a long history of serving state of Rhode Island. JLRI is a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI), a charitable non-profit organization that provides continuity and support, guidance and leadership development opportunities to 293 Junior Leagues in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States. JLRI reaches out to women of all races, religions, and national origins, who demonstrate an interest in, and commitment to, volunteerism. The JLRI actively trains its members to develop their full potential as volunteers and civic leaders, something which sets the JLRI apart from other volunteer organizations.
