Five Things: Tonight's Outdoor Movie POSTPONED!

The movie at Academy Field - Jumanji - will be shown Sunday night instead.


“Movie Under the Stars” outdoor movie postponed to Sunday night: The Town of East Greenwich, with support from the Main Street Association (MSA) of East Greenwich, and the East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, are pleased to announce that the third annual “Movie Under the Stars” outdoor movie event that was scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. has been rescheduled for Sunday night, September 9th at Academy Field because of inclement weather. This year’s movie title is “Jumanji,” starring Robin Williams, rated PG. Admission is free, and refreshments will be available on-site for purchase.

Multi-Family Yard Sale: Two families at this location in the High Hawk neighborhood from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. TONS of children's clothing. Girls sizes 7/8 - 12, mostly 7-10; boys sizes 10-16, adult male small. Aeropostale, Old Navy, Justice, Gymboree, Ralph Lauren/Polo, Reebok, Nike, Columbia, Obermeyer, LL Bean. Craft Fair: All proceeds from table rentals & raffles will go towards the Welcome Home Party for the 1/126 Aviation Echo Company. At the on Main Street. Open Garden Day & Harvest Party in Providence: Sponsored by the Providence Community Growers Network, OPEN GARDEN DAY will feature tours of a variety of Providence farms and gardens. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet urban growers and sample fruits and vegetables grown on-site at each farm and/or garden. St. Francis Sign-Up Weekend: On Saturday, September 8th after the 5:00pm Mass and again after all the Masses on Sunday, September 9th, St. Francis de Sales will host our Sign Up Weekend for Religious Education in the Parish Center. Households not currently registered in the parish are welcome to attend as well as those already participating in the program. Our First Communion and Confirmation preparation classes begin on September 16th and our intergenerational education program, Generations of Faith, begins October 12th. Third-Annual Grazing Dinner at Chez Pascal w/Pat’s Pastured: On Monday, Sept. 10, Chez Pascal’s Matt Gennuso will be creating a special five-course dinner at his Providence restaurant that will feature Pat’s Pastured grass-fed and pastured products.
