Our Event!

Organizational Theory, a class offered by the Providence College School of Business, allows its students to feel empowered. Members in this class are broken up into small teams and told to choose a cause that they are passionate about and wish to make a difference for. My team members and I chose to turn our attention to help under privilege children in the Providence area. Teaming up with Big Brothers Big Sister of the Ocean State (BBBSOS), our goal is to raise over $5,000 dollars to donate to BBBSOS in order to make sure these children receive the proper materials, guidance and support they need. Coming from inner city Providence, and raising to the top of his profession as a Big East Champion head coach, we felt as if Coach Cooley is a perfect role model for these children. We plan on having Coach to speak about mentorship, leadership and his journey to get to where he is today. We are inviting families, mentorship pairs, and students to this event in hopes of raising both awareness and financial assistance for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Coach Cooley will be giving a speech that will focus on leadership, mentorship and his journey to where he is today. In addition there will be a question and answer segment. Before the speech, we plan on having a 50/50 raffle, a half court shooting contest that would win many different prizes (including gift cards from sponsors, heart and soul shirts, and other memorabilia). Finally, we would like to have the Big East Championship trophy available with a backdrop ready so people can make a small donation and get a picture with the trophy.

The event will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 24th, 2014 in Mullaney Gym on campus.

If you cannot make this event and would like to donate we have a fundly account (as seen under).  Please help out on this amazing cause.
