Volunteers Needed for Memorial Day Parade in East Greenwich

If you can help, email Town Clerk Leigh Botello at lbotello@eastgreenwichri.com or call 401-866-8604.

Feel like pitching in a little this weekend?

If so, the parade on Memorial Day needs you.

The town is looking for volunteers to help out with the parade, specifically the logistics of the memorial ceremony at Cliff Street.

If you can help, email Town Clerk Leigh Botello at lbotello@eastgreenwichri.com or call 401-866-8604.

The parade pauses for important words and TAPS as Divisions 1 and 2 gather around the corner of Cliff Street.

Mr. Hoyer has traditionally orchestrated the movement but "it's a difficult task for one person," Botello said in an e-mail message.

The parade starts at around 10 a.m., beginning at Academy Field. It heads onto First Avenue for a wreath laying at the World War II memorial on Cliff Street. It continues on to Main Street where closing ceremonies are held on the steps of Town Hall.
