EG College Grads, Spring 2013

EG Patch posts college graduations and honors on a semi-annual basis.

On May 11, Keene State College's Commencement honored its biggest-ever graduating class. A total of 1,219 degrees were awarded to 1,146 students, including these local students: Kateland Dittig, who earned a BA, BA, Magna Cum Laude; Davis Fitch, who earned a BA; and Courtney Thorpe, who earned a BA.

Skidmore's Class of 2013, with 605 baccalaureate candidates, participated in the College's 102nd Commencement May 18 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. John McCarthy of East Greenwich received a BS degree .

Molly Greene recently graduated magna cum laude from Bard College at Simon's Rock with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literary Studies and Dramaturgy. Greene attended East Greenwich High School before leaving after 11th grade to enter college early. Greene was one of 124 students to graduate from the early college on May 18. Fifty two undergraduates received their B.A. degrees and 72 received their A.A. degrees.

The following local residents were among nearly 200 students from Providence College who received graduate degrees during the College's Ninety-Fifth Commencement Exercises held on Sunday, May 19, 2013: Judy Fried received a master's degree in Administration, and Brendan Hall received a master's degree in History.

Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts is honored to announce Rachel Ladd of East Greenwich has completed a degree program and has graduated earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. Rachel was also on the Dean's List for the Spring 2013 semester..

Paige McClatchy was awarded a bachelor of arts degree from Connecticut College at the 95th commencement ceremony on May 19. McClatchy graduated cum laude with a major in American studies and history. She was also named to the Dean's High Honors list for the 2013 spring semester, for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.78.

A total of 1,165 degrees were awarded during Worcester Polytechnic Institute's commencement ceremony on May 11, including for Sarah Dinwoodie of East Greenwich, who was awarded a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering with distinction.

The following local students graduated from Villanova University during a spring commencement ceremony, held on May 19: Robert Duffy earned a Bachelor of Arts in the Honors Program; Stephen Marcaccio earned a Bachelor of Science; and Spencer Dean earned a Bachelor of Science.

Laura K. Duff of East Greenwich was one of 502 seniors who graduated from Colby College on May 26, receiving a bachelor of arts degree at the College's bicentennial-year commencement in Waterville, Maine. Duff, the daughter of Robert and Jill Duff of East Greenwich, majored in biology with a neuroscience concentration and women's, gender, and sexuality studies. She is a graduate of East Greenwich High School.

The following local residents recently graduated from Union College during its 219th Commencement exercises on June 16: Anne Lusi, of Cowesett, graduated and received a Bachelor of Science degree. Lusi is a Environmental Science major. Alexandra Palleschi, of East Greenwich, graduated and received a Bachelor of Science degree. Palleschi is a Geology major. Christopher Walsh, of East Greenwich, graduated and received a Bachelor of Science degree. Walsh is a Psychology major.

The following local students graduated from the University of Hartford during spring commencement weekend (May 18-19): George Prete of Flanders, New York with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and Patricia Swanson of East Greenwich, with a Bachelor of Arts.
