Obit: Matthew R. Franzone, 84

A Korean War Army veteran, he grew up in East Greenwich and lived here for most of his life.

Matthew R. Franzone, 84, of Cowesett Avenue, passed away Friday, April 19. He leaves his wife, Marie C. (Mello) Franzone; two daughters, Diane M. Tellier and Mary M. Owens and two grandchildren, Allyson and Matthew Owens. He was the brother of the late Frank and Anthony Franzone.

Born in East Greenwich, Matthew was the son of the late Bernardino and Giovannina Franzone. He living in EG for many years before moving to West Warwick in 1989.

He was a chef at the Post Road Inn before retiring in 1990. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church and a Korean War Army Veteran.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 8:45 am from the Henault-Gallogly Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Fourth Ave., East Greenwich. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
