Obituary: Brigitta "Briggy" D. (Muench) Bliss, 78

Brigitta "Briggy" D. (Muench) Bliss, 78, formerly of East Greenwich, died Dec. 23, in Sarasota, Fla. Beloved wife of the late Maynard Bliss, she was born in Ravensburg, Germany, a daughter of the late Ludwig and Josephine Ahr. She is survived by her son Courtney Exter.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich, on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. A memorial service was held in Sarasota on Jan. 3.

During this past year, in spite of pressing health challenges, Briggy greeted each day with the signature smile and gentle manner that endeared her to all who knew her. Her indomitable spirit and grace under fire were a true testament to her unwavering Christian beliefs and values. She said many times, "Don't mourn too much about my passing, but instead celebrate the glorious gift of life and love God gave us for the while."
