Doris C. Roderick of East Greenwich passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony M. Roderick.
Born in East Greenwich, a daughter of the late Ralph J. and Mildred E. (Gardiner) Catanio, she was a life long resident of East Greenwich. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Doris taught English in the East Greenwich school system for over 40 years. She influenced and inspired generations of East Greenwich students. She is survived by a sister, Jane Staten of Nevada, a nephew and two nieces, and several great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Grace Rovozzo.
A Requiem Eucharist was celebrated Saturday April 12th at 10:00 am at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Peirce St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, East Greenwich. Calling hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Luke's Church, 99 Peirce Street, East Greenwich, RI 02818.
