Obituary: Maria (Maggiacomo) D'Amico, 76

Born in Italy, Maria was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family.


D'AMICO, MARIA (MAGGIACOMO) 76, of East Greenwich, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 14, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard P. D'Amico.

Born in Itri, Italy she was the daughter of the late Vespaziano and Adriana (DeSimone) Maggiacomo. Maria was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. She loved the arts and theater and enjoyed her time with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving children, Lisa Alviti of Saunderstown, Richard D'Amico of Cranston, and Joseph D'Amico of Cranston; her 11 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; her siblings Paul Maggiacomo of Warwick, Pat Maggiacomo of Cranston, Carlo Maggiacomo of Cranston, and Julio Maggiacomo of Saunderstown.

Funeral from the Nardillilo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 260 West Exchange St., Suite 102B, Providence, R.I. 02903.
