Obituary: Robert M. Cogan, 96

Robert M. Cogan, 96, passed away Nov. 26. He was the husband of Jane C. Cogan. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a son of the late Francis H. and Lillian E. Cogan.

Mr. Cogan was a sales representative for General Electric for 30 years retiring in 1983. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army serving in WWII and the Korean War. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, the American Cancer Society and the Rhode Island Ostomy Association and was a member of the East Greenwich United Methodist Church. Besides his wife he is survived by two children, James D. Cogan and Nancy C. Snow and her husband Robert; two grandchildren, Benjamin and his wife Amy, Emily and her husband Wade, and two great grandchildren, Jacob and Reese. He was the father of the late Robert T. Cogan and brother of the late Homer Cogan.

Funeral service Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the East Greenwich United Methodist Church, 1558 South County Trail, East Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in Glenwood Cemetery, East Greenwich. Calling hours are Monday from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to East Greenwich United Methodist Church.
