Pillar of EG Community Dies at 85

Services for Margaret M. Connors, a longtime resident of East Greenwich, will be Friday.

Margaret MacDonald Connors, 85, a Warwick native and longtime resident of East Greenwich, passed away on June 8, 2014 in Birmingham, AL.

After working for over 20 years for RI Hospital Trust National Bank, Margaret retired to care for her family and was involved in Meadowbrook Garden Club, Meals on Wheels, and the EG Free Library.

Margaret was proceeded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charles W. Connors, Jr., her parents, Julia and George Whitney MacDonald, and sister, Nancy E. Baldwin.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Joseph) Biggio and grandchildren, Connor and Sophia, all of Birmingham, AL. She also leaves behind her brother in law Dr. Maurice (Mary Ann) Connors of Lexington, MA; nieces and nephews Julie Kahrhoff and Bob Baldwin of Warwick, Michele and Charles (Kerry) Connors and James and Jeffrey Yusah of Massachusetts, and Scott Yusah of California, and great nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Anne Clarke of N. Augusta, SC.

Her funeral service will be Friday, June 13th at 11:30am at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:30am. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In Lieu of flowers please make donations to the RI Food Bank, 200 Niantic Ave., Providence, RI 02907.
