Rhode Island Kitchen & Bath Wins Big at 2013 Contractor of the Year Awards

R.I. Kitchen & Bath, an award winning design-build firm specializing in kitchen, bath and interior renovations throughout Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts and Eastern Connecticut, is pleased to be the recipient of three Contractor of the Year (CotY) Awards- Eastern Massachusetts region. The team was honored with a Gold award in the Residential Bath Over $60,000 category, a Silver award in the Residential Kitchen over $150,000 category and a Silver award in the Residential Kitchen $50,000 to $100,000.

The annual CotY competition, sponsored by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), is renowned throughout the remodeling industry recognizing exceptional achievement in remodeling and construction. The awards ceremony was held on November 13, 2013 at the Clarke Showroom in Milford, MA.

The winning project in the “Residential Bath Over $60,000” category involved remodeling an out-of-date, cramped bathroom to create an attractive, modern space for homeowners who were looking to expand their bathroom that had been used previously by their two children, who are now grown. The team expanded the shower, rebuilt the vanity and added all new lighting fixtures, tile, and cabinets. The end result was a classic, comfortable bathroom space the clients enjoy each day.

R.I. Kitchen & Bath’s work on a disorderly kitchen received the award in the “Residential Kitchen Over $150,000” category. The team turned the cluttered, uninviting kitchen space into a beautiful, open area where the clients could comfortably work, relax and enjoy family gatherings.  With the homeowners looking for some major changes, the team of experts were able to redesign the space by raising the ceiling in the kitchen, opening up the walls of the living room, adding all new storage, windows and appliances, and extending the outdoor deck to wrap around the dining area. The end result was an impressive, yet comfortable living space.

The winning project in the “Residential Kitchen $50,000 to $100,000” category involved restructuring a kitchen to create an open cooking space that took advantage of the outdoor views from the walls to windows. The team improved the placement of the appliances, lighting, and storage in order to enhance the overall cooking experience. The ultimate result was an organized, open kitchen space with tall storage, innovative lighting, and increased countertop space allowing for an ideal conversation area.
