Police said Dennis McGovern, 46, with a last known address in Cumberland, was charged with two counts of shoplifting.

Police said McGovern stole baby formula from the store on two separate occasions in January and February respectively.

Last week, police distributed images of him captured by store security cameras via the Rhode Island Web site in the hopes of identifying him.

Court records show McGovern has had more than two-dozen run-ins with the law for a variety of charges since the 1980s.

McGovern pleaded no contest to the two shoplifting charges, one of which was dismissed. He was sentenced to six months of probation, ordered to perform 10 hours of community service and make restitution. He was also ordered to pay court costs.
