Charges Against Councilman Dismissed

Charges after March 9 incident at East Greenwich councilman's home were dismissed by a District Court judge on Friday.

Charges of domestic disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault against East Greenwich Councilman Bradford Bishop have been dismissed.

The charges were dismissed in Third Division District Court on Friday.

Judge William C. Clifton simultaneously vacated a previous no-contact order as the charges were dismissed.

Bishop, 56, was arrested on March 9 after police were dispatched to his Adirondack Drive home for a report of an assault.

Court records show the alleged victim invoked Fifth Amendment privileges and did not testify.
