EG Man Arrested after Hit and Runs, Chase

A 25-year-old EG man is facing a slew of charges after allegedly striking several cars while intoxicated behind the wheel of a stolen SUV.

A 25-year-old East Greenwich man is facing charges after several hit and run incidents Saturday in several towns in Rhode Island.

Police said Jose Espada, fled the scene of a crash in Cranston near Route 10 on Reservoir Avenue in a stolen vehicle.

A short time later, state police learned that the car was involved in a hit and run in Providence, and later, another crash on Post Road in Warwick.

Police said Espada then dumped the stolen vehicle on Route 95 in Warwick and fled on foot, seen by witnesses running across several lanes of traffic. 

Police found Espada in the woods near the CCRI campus.

Police said Espada was charged with driving under the influence, multiple counts of leaving the scene of an accident and possession of a controlled substance.
