EG Man Indicted For Sunnybrook Farms Robbery In May

Samuel Lemont, son of State Police Capt. John Lemont, is charged with first-degree robbery.


Samuel Lemont, 18, of Richmond, has been indicted for allegedly committing armed robbery back in May, WPRI reported. He's charged with one count of first-degree robbery.

Lemont is the son of Rhode Island State Police Captain John Lemont, who lives in East Greenwich.

Lemont is accused of robbing the Sunnybrook Farms convenience store on Main Street in EG at gunpoint on Tuesday evening, May 8. Police arrested Lemont two days later. Lemont allegedly held up the lone employee, departing with an unknown amount of money.

The weapon — a semi-automatic handgun — was recovered, according to police. If convicted, he would face 10 years to life in prison.
