EG Police Seek Help Identifying Suspects

A man and a woman are suspected of stealing jewelry from two stores on Main Street last Saturday.


East Greenwich Police are trying to identify two suspects who entered two stores on Main Street and stole several pieces of assorted jewelry on Saturday, according to Rhode Island Most Wanted.

The businesses were Lost Treasures, 75 Main St., and Lola's Vintage Closet, 412 Main St. 

In both instances, the male asked to see numerous pieces of jewelry. Shortly after, the male suspect told the clerk they would return with money. 

After the couple left the stores the both store owners noticed several pieces of jewelry missing. According to the store owners, the couple spoke to each other in Spanish and claimed that they were buying gold to bring back to Mexico. 

Taken in the thefts were assorted gold rings with assorted diamonds and stones.
